About
Welcome to Momma Lo's Southern Style BBQ, a hidden gem located at 284 Main St, Great Barrington, MA. Known for its warm atmosphere and delicious comfort food, this quaint eatery offers a delightful taste of authentic Southern BBQ.
At Momma Lo's, the culinary experience begins with the irresistible aroma of smoked meats wafting from the BBQ pit, enticing passersby to step inside. The menu boasts a range of mouthwatering options, but the star players are undoubtedly the pulled pork and ribs. Many guests rave about the tender, flavorful meats that practically melt in your mouth. As one satisfied customer noted, the "ribs just fall off the bone perfectly," showcasing the expert technique and passion that goes into every dish.
Beyond the proteins, the sides at Momma Lo's deserve special mention. The coleslaw has become a fan favorite, celebrated for its crunchy texture and flavor. While some guests suggest that the mac and cheese might benefit from a bit more cheese and seasoning, the overall creamy goodness has left a lasting impression on many visitors. The collard greens, while not universally lauded, are still a nod to the traditional Southern cuisine.

“ This was DELICIOUS. My boyfriend and I found Momma Lo’s by accident and we are so happy we did. The pulled pork and brisket were so incredible that we came back the next day to have some more of their food! Everything is also GF friendly minus the Mac and cheese and corn bread! Edit: we just came back to MA this year and had to stop by Momma Lo’s again. We did the pulled pork and ribs combo platter with coleslaw and Mac and cheese and it was INCREDIBLE! The sauce is so rich, the ribs just fall off the bone perfectly, the mac and cheese is perfect and the coleslaw is nice and crunchy. 100/10 ”
“ Great rib dish with 2 sides. The bbq pit is seen right in the back and the bbq smoke drew us to this place. Super friendly and very helpful with the menu items. ”
“ We love this BBQ place and glad for its location. The owners are kind and work incredibly hard. We’ve ordered a large platter for a group of 5 and have also popped in for a quick lunch. My husband likes the brisket sandwich which overflows out of the takeout box and I’m a bbq chicken fan with all the fixings. We are big fans highly recommend. ”
“ Have been coming to the Berkshires area for 25 years and have made this restaurant a must visit anytime we're up here since they opened. Food is fantastic, the family members that run the business are all very warm and welcoming. If you are in the area looking for BBQ this spot is definitely worth the visit! ”
“ First off, having bbq in Great Barrington is a real win, long needed in this area. Beyond that, the folks running this place are incredibly friendly and warm, and purely on service I will be coming back. Food wise, having just spent 10 days in TX hitting up stellar bbq and smoking meats myself, I think they are doing a great job and it hits the spot. The fried chicken is fantastic, the brisket is tender, and I’d only maybe add some salt or jalapeños to the mac and cheese (but it’s perfectly good as it goes). Really great place, definitely worth a stop in! ”
“ The food was good. Pull pork and ribs where tender . I've had better greens before. The mac and cheese needed a little more cheese and some salt and pepper, but it was still good . Last but not least, the Cole slaw was soooooo good. There is a smoking shack right behind the restaurant that will literally lure you in. Picnic style dining and free 2 hr parking. I'm glad we stopped by. ”
“ Phone did not eat first because I was so hungry! Stopped here after a hike and was not disappointed. Had the pulled pork sandwich with slaw and Mac and cheese. Slaw was phenomenal. Pork was tender and flavorful. Mac and cheese was creamy and delicious. Sweet people working there too:) ”
